Shake It Up Review!
8.5/10 Wow I didn’t expect to still enjoy Shake It Up, but here we are.
Plot: Cece and Rocky fulfill their dreams of becoming successful dancers by landing a spot on their local TV station "Shake It Up Chicago".
Positives:
1. The concept is pretty unique.
2. Rocky and CeCe's friendship is pretty enjoyable, their chemistry is entertaining, and they can be hilarious at times.
3. The dances are pretty decent for the most part, some are pretty average, but there’s a lot that are actually impressive.
4. I enjoyed the rest of the characters too. Ty, Deuce, and Flynn’s friendship was always entertaining to me, along with Gunther and Tinka’s rudeness towards Rocky and CeCe.
5. The humor is good. Yes, there are corny jokes, but that’s expected. Most of my favorite gags come from Gunther and Tinka, by the way.
6. The series finale was great. It could’ve been more nuanced, but it was very sweet regardless.
Negatives:
1. Obviously, the series can be very cringey, and it’s very hard to watch at times.
Overall, I love Shake It Up. I was honestly surprised on my rewatch that I ended up actually enjoying the show. Happy 15th anniversary
