Wiki Behavior

There's been a deterioration of manners around this wiki and I would just like to bring up 3 points that I think a lot of us can work on.

1. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. If you are leaving a hateful comment just to upset someone, please don't. I see no reason for antagonistic behavior. It's fine to hate a show, but there's no reason to post something just to annoy others who love the show.

2. There's been a lot of swearing in the messages and in the comments. I don't have the time or energy to go through and censor it all now, but a lot of you could be banned for your comments. I suggest that if you have used inappropriate language in any way, you edit your comment before I take the time to find it. It is against the wiki policy to swear.

3. Lastly, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like someone's opinion, comment with your own or ignore it. Do not take offense. It doesn't matter if someone thinks that the show won't be renewed, or if they stopped liking Shake It Up, or if they have a criticism, or if they won't stop mentioning one of their favorite ships, or if they think that one episode that you dislike was the best episode ever, or if they obsess over a certain character, that is their opinion. It is not something that should offend you. Your opinion may offend them just as much. Unless someone is personally attacking you or someone else, there is no reason to take offense and in that case, you should report it to me. Let's stay a website that is open to varied opinions instead of all ganging up on those with less popular opinions. Like what you like, dislike what you don't. Someone else's opinion does not control your feelings.

But that's the problem, they don't say that they moved on, that they have given up, because if they did that yes that would be an opinion. But no, they are busy telling us to just give up, telling us to forget it, and that is very offensive. You don't need to directly give a name to direct a comment at someone. They tell us to do it.

And if we had just given up we have never known that Disney would take it up for consideration.

I think it's fine that somebody have an opinion and don't want to join our fight. But then again I'll tell them this: They will never know how it feels to actually trying to make a difference, because of the fact that we actually got Disney to consider it. Our own Chelseakangaroo deserves credit for getting through to Disney on E-mail.

There are two things in this case: Fact and opinion. To say "It's never going to happen" is saying a fact, and it's never to know if that fact is true. Saying "I don't think it's going to happen" is an opinion of their own. They don't use opinion, they use fact. And fact and opinion is two different things, they should never be mixed in same cage, which is exactly what the human being have failed to do for centuries. There are therefore also two variations of facts, true facts and claimed facts, the latter of the two which is either true or false.

I've looked through the first three pages of comments on Remember Me since I'm assuming you're talking about comments on that page. The only one I could find there that is anything like you're talking about is this one:

"Guys, shake it up ended. There's no spin off, season 4 shocker, nothing. It's The End. All Disney shows have to come to an End sometimes. It's over. Shake it up is gone, and never coming back. When one Disney show ends, another one opens, which leads to more Miley Cyrus's. So Shake it Up is...... The End."

From what I can see, this is all current facts. They may not be concrete, permanent facts if Disney decides to bring the show back, but right now, they are legitimate facts. I can't say what this person was thinking when they wrote it, but from reading it, I assume that they're stating that when shows end, one should move on. That is an opinion. My advice would be to ignore comments like this since there was definitely an over reaction about this one.

I know all of you are working really hard and I respect that (hats off to you guys putting so much effort in), but not everyone will and that's okay. If you guys get the show back, they won't be able to stand up with you and take credit for that. As for my feelings on whether Disney is considering anything, I would need to see a press release from Disney or a screen shot of the email before I would be able to consider that a fact.

That is actually the reason I tried to keep a neutral tone in what I wrote before. And yes, it is a fact that the show has ended it is just a bit offensive the way it was said. Thank you for understanding. And I will never give up on this show...
